Silver Thai amulet Rian Sema Lang Phat Yoht Nuea Ngern from the venerable Luang Pho Utama Phra Udom Sangworn Then, in his lifetime abbot of Wat Wang Wiwekaram, Tambon Nonglu, Amphoe Songkhaburi, Changwat Kanchanaburi, Thailand from the year B.E. 2525 (1982).
The venerable Luang Pho Utama created the amulet on the occasion of his 72nd birthday in a small series of only 999 amulets and consecrated it during 9 days and nights.
It shows the venerable Luang Pho Utama with the stroke "Phra Udom Sangworn Then (Utama)" on the front. At the back his Phat Yoht with the stroke „Wat Wang Wiwekaram 2525 Amphoe Sangkhaburi Changwat Kanchanaburi“ is to be seen.
A Paht Yoht is a skilfully embroidered fan from cloth in which middle the Yahn, the official monk's name and title as well as the name of the temple are embroidered. The wooden staff on which there is the Phaht Yod is made of dark fine wood with artful nacreous inserts. The Phat Yod is in a wooden stand gilt with gold leaf, during big ceremonies standing behind the monk, in the temple mostly at the side beside his seat.
The amulet is in a handmade, watertight dimension casing, height approx. 4.8 cm, width approx. 2.8 cm, thickness approx. 1.2 cm and weight approx. 16 grammes.
Luang Pho Utama amulets protect against natural and supernatural dangers, against misfortune and in accidents as well as illness. They give luck and a "happy hand" in financial and business matters.
Luang Pho Utama was born on Sunday in March B.E. 2453 (1910) in the Ban Mokka Niey, Tambon Klaosa, Amphoe Ye, Changwat Mala-Mhaeng, Burma. His parents were Mr. Ngo and Mrs. Thongsuk (surname unknown) whom had 11 further children.
At the age of 18 years he ordained in the Wat Klaosa to the novice (Buat Naen). Then five years later, in the 4/23/2476 (1933), he ordained in the same temple to the monk (Buat Phra). After 10 years of the study of the holy scriptures in 1943 he went on 18 years lasting wanderings as a Phra Thudong (forest- and wanderings monk).The first 6 years he spent in the woods of Burma and from there he moved on to Thailand.
In 1961 his 12-years wanderings through Thailand ended in the Wat Wang Wiwekaram where he assumed the office of the abbot. One year later he furthermore assumed commissarial the office of the abbot of the Wat Sri Suwannaram. In 1968 he was appointed the Phra Uppatcha (ordination monk) and in 1973 the Chao Kana Tambon Chan Aek.
His Majesty king Bhumibol Rama 9 of Thailand in the 12/5/2524 conferred the monk's title "Phra Udom Sangworn Then" on Luang Pho Utama and 10 years later, in the 12/5/2434, the monk's title "Phra Ratcha Udom Mongkoln".
Luang Pho Utama passed away in the 10/18/2550 (2007) at 07:22 o'clock local times at the age of 97 years and 74 Phansa as a monk in the Sirirat hospital of Bangkok.
