Luang Pho Pern, who was abbot of Wat Bang Phra in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, while he was alive, is among the world's best known and most revered monks in Thailand. His amulets and statues are highly effective and belong to the most demanded Buddhist collectors' items. Many statues were created in limited quantities,casted according to the old traditional method in the temple. The annually-find Wan Wai Khru festival attracts thousands of foreign visitors, because during the holy festival protective Tattoos (Sak Yant) are made by the monks.
