Thai Buddha Amulet Somdej Phra Sangkarat Wat Bowon

Phra Pairee Pinat Phim Lek Thai Buddha amulet from his holiness, the Supreme patriarch of Thailand Somdej Phra Sangkharat Phra Yanasangwon, abbot of Wat Bowon (Wat Bowonnivet Viharn), Amphoe Phra Nakhon, Changwat Bangkok, Thailand from the 12/5/2539 (1996).

With this amulet it concerns a royal birthday amulet which was published on the occasion of the birthday of his Majesty king Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama 9 of Thailand in the 12/5/2539 (1996).

The amulet was created by 108 holy ingredients and was consecrated by 108 of the highest monks of Thailand in the Ubosoth of Wat Bowon.

The amulet shows the Phra Paree Pinat, the holiest Buddha statue of Wat Bowon on the front. At the back there are the royal insignia with the stroke "Wat Bowonnivet Viharn BE 2539".

The amulet is in a silvery metal casing, height approx. 3.9 cm, width approx. 2.4 cm, thickness approx. 1.5 cm and weight approx. 14 grammes.

The amulet protects its wearer against accidents, disasters, misfortune and illness and give him a Long live. It gives luck, prosperity, wealth (Ruai)) and a good life without Need. The Wat Bowon is the domicile of the Supreme patriarch of Thailand, the head of all Thai monks and temples at home and abroad. His majesty king Mongkut Rama IV of Siam domiciliated in 1836 in Wat Bowon and assumed some years later the office of the abbot. He administrated this until shortly before his coronation to the king of Siam in 1851. Since then most male members of the Thai royal family ordained in Wat Bowon to the monk. So also his majesty king Bhumibol Rama IX von Thailand and his son, the crown prince of Thailand, Varijalongkorn, as well as his sons.

Somdej Phra Sangkarat was born on Friday 03rd of October, 1913, in the year of the ox, in Ban Nua, Müang, Kanchanaburi, Siam (Thailand). He ordained on the 12th of June, 1933 in Wat Devasangharam, Kanchanaburi, in 1972 the title "Somdet" (royal one) was bestowed upon him and in 1989 he assumed the office of the Supreme patriarch. He is the first Supreme patriarch of Thailand who does not come from the rows of the royal Family.

His holiness Somdej Phra Sangkarat (สมเด็จพระญาณสังวร สมเด็จพระสังฆราช) passed away on Thursday the 10/24/2013, at 19:30 o'clock local time at the age of 100 years and 21 days, after 80 Phansa as a Monk, in the King Chulalogkorn Memorial Hospital (โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์), Bangkok, as a result of a blood poisoning.
