Khun Paen Amulet from the venerable Luang Phu Tim

Phra Khun Paen Klueab Sri Mongkol Ruun Pii Sed amulet from the venerable Luang Phu Tim, abbot of Wat Phra Khaw, Tambon, Phra Khaw, Amphoe Bang Bal, Changwat Ayutthaya, Thailand, from 2551 (2008).

This amulet series was created by the venerable Luang Phu Tim to support Wat Loh Suthawas in Angthong in the reconstruction and the restoration of the temple. Wat Loh Suthawas was strongly damaged in the 10/8/2549 (2006) by high water and was destroyed partly (see photo below).

It is one of the last by the venerable Luang Phu Tim created amulet series, only 4 months later the venerable Luang Phu Tim passed away.

Amulets which were created to build, to restore, to renovate or to extend a temple are valid as especially holy and luck-bringing, because they show a piece of the temple.

Luang Phu Tim created the amulets from 108 holy ingredients after a confidential recipe which is known only to him. The front is glazed. These amulets were handmade in Wat Phra Khaw by monks. One recognises handmade amulets, among the rest, by the fact that they are mostly asymmetrical, right corners are absent and that they do not correspond to the standard measure.

The front shows Phra Khun Paen and at the back a Yant for luck, prosperity and protection, as well as the stroke "Luang Phu Tim Wat Phra Khaw".

The amulet is in a silvery metal casing, height approx. 6.7 cm, width approx. 3.4 cm, thickness approx. 1.7 cm and weight approx. 27 grammes.

The amulet gives to its wearer strength and charisma as well as a "happy hand" in financial and business matters what leads to luck and prosperity (literally wealth). It protects its owner against illness, dangers, accidents and misfortune.

Luang Phu Tim has handed the income from the sales of this amulet series in the 11/2/2551 (2008) - on this day we Buddhist celebrate the Thod Kathin festivity - to the venerable Luang Pho Peithum, abbot of Wat Loh Suthawas.

Luang Phu Tim (Phra Khru Sangwoon Samanakit) was born as Tim Chum Chookdee in the year of the bull, in the 3/1/2456 (1913) in the Tambon Phra Khaw, Amphoe Bang Bal, Changwat Ayutthaya, Thailand.

He was the third from six children of the married couples Mr. Prom and Mrs. Gim Chum Chookdee. In the year of the pig, in July, 2478 (1935) he ordained for 1 year and returned afterwards to the civil life and married. With his wife he got 4 children.

In the year of the rat, on Saturday, the 4/10/2491 (1948), at the age of 35 years, he left his woman and his child to ordain for the second time in Wat Pigun. He received the monk's name "Addhasanangto".

In the year of the bull, B.E. 2492 (1949) he went to Wat Phra Khaw where he became abbot in the year of the sheep, in 1955.

In 1967 he was appointed the Chao Kana Nahm Da and the Tambon Phra Khaw, the head of all monks, temples and believers of both Tambons. At the same time he became Phra Upphatcha (ordination monk).

His holiness Phra Somdej Sankarat, the Supreme patriarch of Thailand, gave the name "Phra Khru Sangwoon Samanakit" and the title "Phra Khru Sanya Bat Chandree" to Luang Phu Tim in 1969 (B.E. 2512)

8 years later, in 1977 (B.E. 2520), the title "Phra Khru Sanya Bat Chan Tho" was conferred on him by his holiness.

Luang Phu Tim belongs to the great masters of the Visha (Buddhist magic). His amulets are valid as particularly luck bringing and protecting.

Luang Phu Tim passed away as a result of a heart suffering, at the age of 96 years, on Sunday, the 3/22/2009, at 10:55 o'clock local time, in the Sathabann Rok Chuang Og hospital, Tivanon Road, Tambon Bang Krasoo, Amphoe Müang, Changwat Nonthaburi.
