Part-gilt Jatukam Ramathep Nuea Rom Dam Pid Thong Thai temple statue from the venerable Phra Khru Thep Vinyaporn, abbot of Wat Phra Mahathat Woramaha Viharn, briefly Wat Phra Mahathat or Wat Mahathat, Amphoe Mueang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, south Thailand of the 9/9/2549 (2006).
The venerable Phra Khru Thep created the statue from old holy metals in a small series of only 499 pieces and let them pour on the holy ground of Wat Phra Mahathat. It is partially gilt with holy gold leaf and shows the Jatukam-Ramathep, the divine angel (Rama = divine / royal and Thep = angel) who is the protector and luck bringer (health, prosperity and a long life) of the people.
Jatukam sits on the body rolled up to a throne of a 5-headed snake. His upraised right hand repels misfortune and all negative from the owner. Under his feet a gilt world guard Rahoo Om Dschan is to be seen. In each case a further Rahoo Om Dschan is at the side at the back. 12 Chinese signs of the zodiac are to be seen in the lower base edge. At the back of the snake heads the big Chedi of the Wat Phra Mahathat is illustrated. Right and left besides there is the Yahn of the venerable Phra Khru Thep. The 8 stylised lotus blossoms symbolise the boundary stones of Wat Phra Mahathat and the 8 directions.
The statue was consecrated in the 9/9/2549 at 09:09 o'clock by 99 monks in the Wat Phra Mahathat and afterwards in the San Lak Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat. The statue should give particularly a lot of luck and prosperity to its owner, because its history of origin 9 times contains the number 9. Only 499 statues of this size were poured and consecrated on the 09.09.49 at 09:09 o'clock local time by 99 monks.
The number 9 is the luck number par excellence in the Thai Buddhism. The more „ Nines“ are in a number, the more luck it should give. This leads to the fact that car registration or mobile numbers with many „ Nines“ are especially expensive in Thailand. Thus a car registration number which has the number 999 may cost 100,000 Baht (approx. 2,400 euros) or more.
The statue is approx. 22 cm high, approx. 10 cm wide, approx. 6 cm deep and approx. 1.15 kg
Jatukam Ramathep gives health, luck and prosperity (literally: Wealth) to his owner. The Rahoo Om Dschan gives to his owner strength, charisma, creativity and mental strength. He protects his owner from attacks, misfortune, illness and accidents, as well as against bad ghosts, black magic, witchcraft, Voodoo, Visha Khameen, imprecations,negative energy and other magic methods which are directed against his owner. Moreover, he should protect the house / the flat of the wearer against misfortune and all negative (e.g., burglar, earthquake, floods, fires etc.) as well as against ghosts, magic and negative energy.
