Unique piece - Hoi Sang Rood Nam Ngan Täng Ngaan - The wedding-mussel set is required for the Puu Kaen ceremony in the traditional Thai wedding.
After the "marriage" by the monks the Sai Sin Mongkoln is placed on the heads of the bridal couple. Afterwards every guest goes to the bridal couple which is kneeling on benches and ties a white Sai Sin around the wrist of them successively. He wishes the bridal couple luck, prosperity and being blessed with children. After the guest has tied the Sai Sin around the wrist, he lets flow the water from the mussel in the folded up hands of the bride / of the bridegroom and congratulates again.
The set exists of a big mussel which is in a bowl with stand which was also made from a mussel. The mussel is approx. 14 cms long, approx. 6,0 cms broad, approx. 5,0 cms thick and weighs approx. 175 grammes. The bowl with stand is approx. 12 cms long, approx. 9,5 cms broad, approx. 4,5 cms thick and weighs approx. 158 grammes.
