Original Thai cardigan (Angsa Gan Naow Maii Prom) for thai-monks in standard size for Thais. The waistcoat has the colour of Thai monk's robes (saffron / Sii Phaa Chivon).
The warming monk's clothing offered by us was produced in Thailand especially for monks and, therefore, has a standard size which is for Thai with normal figure.
Monks in Germany and other, not as warm European countries, will be absolutely very thankful for this donation, because warming monk's clothing is hardly available in Europe.
One may donate clothes for monks to a temple or monk at any time, also without special occasion. Of course clothes can be also donated at special festivals, like the Ook Phansa festival or the Thod Kathin festival. It is unimportant whether it is only a piece of clothing or a complete monk's garment.
By the donation (Dhana) - according to the Sutta (the treatises of Buddha) - one can acquire laudable salaries (Tambun) for the next life.
Donations to monks and novices are called after the book of the discipline rules (Vinaya) the four necessities (Nisaya) which every monk absolutely needs. These are:
1. Jivara - clothing (monk's garment, shoes, cloths, pullovers, caps etc.)
2. Pintapata – food and drinks
3. Senasana – lodging (temporarily, e.g., for only one night - or permanently as well as donations in money or kind for the construction of lodgings)
4. Bhesajja – drugs, vitamins, bandaging material and medical treatments as well as medical equipment, as for example glasses, hearing aid and walking stick.
