Buddha amulets made of stone and clay are one of the oldest types of Thai amulets. They are a minimized version of the votive plates used in temples, like they were found, for example, in the ruins of Ayutthaya, Phimai, Lopburi, or Angkor Wat. They are either carved out of stone "(Phra Somdej Ketchaiyo) or made of burned or even pressed stone dust, or else made of clay which is mixed with ingredients and ancient grounded amulets. Most collectors’ amulets which range between 6- to 7-figure-Euro-amount are Buddha amulets made of stone or clay, and as such hardly spot.
