Phra Pong Chao Sua Rangsi Phim Yai Lang Phaen Thong Daeng Tra Sanyalak Nailuang Krong Rat Kroop 50 Pii Kancha Pisek Thai Amulet from his holiness the Supreme patriarch of Thailand Somdej Phra Sangkharat Phra Yanasangwon, abbot of Wat Bowon (Wat Bowonnivet Vihara), Amphoe Phra Nakhon, Changwat Bangkok, Thailand, from the year B.E. 2539 (1996).
His holiness created the amulet on the occasion of the 50-year-throne jubilee of his Majesty king Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama 9 of Thailand in 1996 from precious holy ingredients. In the back the royal jubilee emblem which was sketched especially for the 50th throne jubilee of copper is let. Under it there is the stroke "Wat Bowonnivet Viharn".
The amulet is located in a silvery metal case, height about 4.5 cms, wide around 2.9 cms and thickness about 1.4 cms. It will be shipped together with the original temple amulet-box. The box is written: „Chao Sua Rangsi Wat Bowonnivet Viharn“.
The Supreme patriarch is the head of the Sangha and with it of all temple, monks, Mae Chis, layman and believer of Thailand, at home and abroad. At the same time he is an abbot of the royal temple 1st class, Wat Bowonnivet Vihara (briefly: Wat Bowon) in Bangkok. The venerable Somdej Phra Sangkharat Phra Yanasangwon is 19. Supreme patriarch since the introduction of this office in 1782 by his Majesty Phra Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke Rama I of the Chakri Dynasty. The Supreme patriarch is chosen by the meeting of the "older ones" (monks) and is appointed by the king. His holiness Somdej Phra Sangkharat Phra Yanasangwon is the first Supreme patriarch who does not come from the rows of the royal family and was appointed in 1989 in his office.
Somdej Phra Sangkharat was born on Friday the 03rd of October, 1913, in the year of the ox, in Ban Nua, Müang, Kanchanaburi, Siam (Thailand). He ordained on the 12th of June, 1933 in Wat Devasangharam, Kanchanaburi, in 1972 the title "Somdej" (Royal one) was given to him and in 1989 he assumed the office of the Supreme patriarch.
