Luang Pho Koon Phra Pidta Maha Mongkoln Ruun Koon 88 Maha Setthi Nuea 288 Wahn Naa Kak Ngern (silver) Fang Takrut Ngern (silver) Thai amulet set from the venerable Luang Pho Koon Parisuttho, abbot of Wat Banrai, Tambon Kut Phiman, Amphoe Dan Khun Thot, Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), north-east Thailand from the 9/18/2553.

Luang Pho Koon is one of the few still living "quite great" monks of Thailand. He belongs worldwide to the most famous monks of the kingdom of Thailand. There is probably no one in Thailand who doesn`t know Luang Pho Koon. One finds images and photos of him nationally in many households, shops, banks, restaurants as well as offices beside or on the altar. His popularity is caused not at least by his amulets which are valid as especially protecting and luck-giving.

The Thai amulet set was published on the occasion of the 88th birthday of the venerable Luang Pho Koon.

The amulet set was created in a limited small series of only 4.888 sets. It concerns the implementation which is masked with silver and provided with silver Takruts. This is, after the implementation which is masked with gold (888 sets), the most precious of this amulet series.

With this amulet set it concerns an incomparable relic which is to be compared to no other amulet which the venerable Luang Pho Koon created till this day. The amulets exist of 288 different holy ingredients (among the rest, of the hair of Luang Pho Koon, gold dust, silver dust and emerald dust) as well as the pollen of 188 different holy flowers and plants.

The amulets are Phra Pidtas (closed eyes Buddhas) which were covered skilfully with a mask of real silver. In the big amulet (Ong Yai) 5 Takruts (Pali scrolls) of silver and in the small amulet (Ong Lek) 3 Takruts of real silver are embedded.

At the back there are Pali formulae, which should bless the owner of the amulets with success, health, luck and prosperity (literally: wealth as well as silver and gold).

The amulets are in the original temple-jewellery casket. In the lid "Phra Pidta Maha Mongkoln Ruun Koon 88 Maha Setthi Pitthi Bugset Tour Prathet Thai Luang Pho Koon Parisuttho Wat Banrai" is to be seen in golden writing. "Tour Prathet Thai" means so much as tour across Thailand and refers to the consecration as you will get to know below.

The amulets were consecrated first by the venerable Luang Pho Koon in the 9/18/2553 and afterwards at 108 different places or temples in the whole of Thailand by 108 of the most important monks, Lüssis (4) and Ajahns of (2) of Thailand. Luang Pho Koon was born on Thursday 4th of October 2466 (1923) as first child of Mrs Thongkao and Mr Bun Chatphongrang at Tambon Kut Phiman, Amphoe Dan Khun Thot, Changwat Nakhon Ratchasima, northeast-Thailand.

His parents were working as paddy farmers. His grandfather, Da Lood, has been well-known in Dan Khun Thot because of his invulnerability and his spiritual forces. Furthermore he had a rich faculty of the old indian language called „Pali“ as well as of the cambodian language. Luang Pho Koon has two younger sisters. His mother died a few years after the birth of his second sister.

At the age of 7 years the grandfather of Luang Pho Koon, whose complete monkname reads as follows: Luang Pho Koon Parisuttho, took him to Luang Pho Cheum, Luang Pho Chai und Luang Pho Lee. They teached him Thai and Pali. At the age of 9 years, when Luang Pho Koon was on his way home from the temple, he saw a man, who was possessed by a demon. He took a wooden bludgeon and talked insistently to the demon. Then he coshed the man with the wooden bludgeon. The man collapsed, then he stood up and didn`t know what had happened.

This was the first demonexpulsion Luang Pho Koon did, at the age of 9 years!

In the 5/5/2486 (1943), at the age of 20 years, Luang Pho Koon ordained in the Wat Thanon Hak Yai, Kut Phiman, Dan Khun Thot, Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat).  His official monkname reads as follows: Phra Thep Vitthayakom. His Mentor was the venerable Luang Pho Wijahn Dtigit, abbot of the monastery. During the next 5 years Luang Pho Kong (Phra Tudong), Luang Pho Daeng und Luang Pho Suk belonged to his most important teachers. Thereafter Luang Pho Koon went on a retreat in the deepest woods of Thailand, Laos und Cambodia.

After 10 years of living as a Phra Tudong, Luang Pho Koon went back to Kut Phiman and began with the reconstruction of the then completely forfeited Wat Banrai. Luang Pho Koon Parisuttho is a living legend and by far the most famous monk of Thailand! Today he is the most adored monk of his country and has bettered the degree of popularity and the talent of his teachers yet a long time ago.
