Phra Pidta Thai Amulet
Phra Pidta Thai Amulet
 |
Phra Pidta (Pid Ta) are Thai amulets which show Buddha who keeps his eyes closed with his hands. There is no other (Buddha) Thai amulet kind which shows such a big wealth of variants, as the Phra Pidta (Pid Ta = closed eyes) Thai-amulets. Particularly downpour amulets (miniature statues) seem to exist in almost endless variations. Monks who created especially effective Phra Pidta amulets have developed their own style which makes their amulets unique. Phra Pidta amulets can be differentiated in three main groups: Phra Pidta Maha Ud are protective amulets; Phra Pidta Mahalap are amulets which give health, luck and prosperity; Phra Pidta Maha Sanee are amulets which give charisma, aura, energy, creativity and respect. Moreover, there are still numerous mixed forms and special forms. |
