Ruup Loo Luang Pho Kong Nuea Nuea Rom Dam statue from the venerable Luang Pho Piuw (Phra Khru Pawana Wisutthi), abbot of Wat Khao Sompod, Tambon Buachum, Amphoe Chai Badan, Changwat Lopburi, Thailand, from the year B.E. 2552 (2009).
The venerable Luang Pho Piuw since 1993 is also Chao Kana Tambon Goo Rang, so the head of all monks and temples in the Tambon Goo Rang.
Luang Pho Piuw was a pupil of the venerable Luang Pho Kong, the first abbot and builder of Wat Khao Sompod, for nearly 20 years. With him he was on wanderings for nearly one decade as a Phra Thudong in the woods of the Isan.
Luang Pho Piuw created this small statue of his honoured teacher in a small series of only 1.999 pieces from a precious Rom Dam alloy. The statue shows the venerable Luang Pho Kong with the stroke "Wat Khao Sompod Kong Chattamalo Changwat Lopburi". The statue is approx. 6 cm high, approx. 4.80 cm wide, approx. 4.10 cm deep and approx. 125 grammes.
Luang Pho Kong, the first abbot and builder of Wat Khao Sompod, in a glass coffin recumbent (see photo) is also even today high revered! His body (which was not preserved) shows no decay tracks. His fingernails and body hairs further grow, thus as if the venerable Luang Pho would sleep and not have passed away.
One calls this state "Arahang". The soul has freed itself of the body, however, this is preserved. This is the highest completion in the Buddhist apprenticeship!
Luang Pho Kong and Wat Khao Sompod are valid as a special "luck bringer" for women. That's why women from all land parts of Thailand visit Wat Khao Sompod to stay there for some days, weeks or months as Mae Chi (Buddhist nun). Women often spend some time as Mae Chi in Wat Khao Sompod, before they marry, conclude important shops, open a store or emigrate abroad.
However, women and girls are not allowed strictly to enter the room in which the venerable Luang Pho Kong rests!
150 - 200 Mae Chis are constantly in Wat Khao Sompod which invites in a picturesque mountain landscape (see photo of the Ubosoth) for meditating. Besides, hordes of monkeys bear company.
