Phra Pong Ruup Müan Thai amulet from the venerable Luang Pho Phut Thaniyo, in his lifetime abbot of Wat Pah Salawan, Amphoe Mueang, Changwat Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat), Isaan, Thailand from the 2/8/1987 (B.E. 2530).
Luang Pho Phut belonged to the great monks of the province of Nakhon Ratchasima. His amulets are valid as especially luck-giving in financial matters and protecting against illness, misfortune and accidents.
The venerable Luang Pho Phut created the amulet on the occasion of his 66th birthday in a small series from 108 holy ingredients, under it among other things hair and the monk's robe of the venerable Luang Phu Phut as well as finely rasped temple gold.
On the front the venerable Luang Pho Phut is to be seen in the meditation position typical for him. At the back there is the Yahn of the venerable Luang Pho Phut with the inscription "Luang Pho Phut Thaniyo".
The amulet is in a silvery metal casing, height approx. 4.2 cm, width approx. 2.6 cm, thickness approx. 1.3 cm and weight approx. 16 grammes.
The amulet gives to its wearer luck in financial matters and protects him against illness, misfortune and accident.
Luang Pho Phut was born in the year of the cock, on Tuesday, the 2/8/2464 (1921), as the only child of Mr. Porn and Mrs.Soon Inha in the Amphoe Nong Doon, Changwat Nakhon Ratchasima, Isaan, Siam.
At the age of 4 years Luang Pho Phut lost his parents by a tragic accident and was raised since then by his grandparents on his mother's side.
At the age of 15 years, in the year of the rat B.E. 2579 (1936), he ordained in the Wat In Suwan, Amphoe Sawang Din Daeng, Changwat Sakhon Nakhon to the novice (Buat Naen). Short time later he went than as a Phra Thudong (forest monk and wanderings monk) on wanderings which led him to Ubon Ratchathani where he got to know the venerable Luang Pho Sao, one of the greatest monks of the past, and became his disciple.
In the year B.E. 2485 (1942) he ordained in the Wat Pathum Wanaram in Bangkok to the monk, where he stayed up to the year B.E. 2513 (1970). Then in 1970 he was appointed to the abbot of Wat Pah Salawan, Amphoe Mueang, Changwat Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat), Isaan.
Luang Pho Phut passed away at the age of 78 years and 57 Phansa as a monk in the year of the rabbit, on Saturday, the 5/15/2542 (1999), in his Kuthi (monk's lodging) in the Wat Pah Salawan.
In the year of the dragon, on Wednesday, the 5/31/2000, her majesty queen Sirikit of Thailand and his Highness crown prince Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand paid to the venerable Luang Pho Phut their last respects and handed over to the Wat Pah Salawan a gilt coffin for the mortal remains of the venerable Luang Pho Phut. This honour was and is given only to a few great monks.
