Waen Suea Nuea Thong Lueang Thai amulet ring from the venerable Luang Pho Pern, in his lifetime abbot of Wat Bang Phra, Ban Kaew Fa, Nakhon Chaisri, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from the year B.E. 2536 (1993). The amulet ring was created and consecrated by Luang Pho Pern while he was still alive.

Luang Pho Pern engraved additional Pali signs for luck and prosperity on the underside of the ring rail. This engraving does not exist on the standard implementation from the Wat Bang Phra, but was engraved by Luang Pho Pern especially for the buyer in these rings.

The ring exists of a tiger's head with wide torn open mouth. A protection Yahn with the stroke "Luang Pho Pern" is on the left side, and the stroke "Wat Bang Phra" is on the right side also with a protection Yahn.

The ring is approx. 2.0 cm wide on top, approx. 1.5 cm high and weighs approx. 13 grammes. It has a diameter of approx. 20 mm.

The amulet ring protects its wearer against attacks by person and animal, against accidents and misfortune. It gives to its wearer charisma, attraction as well as mental and physical energy and the courage as well as the animal strength of a tiger.

Luang Pho Pern Thitakuno was born 12th of August, 1923 (B.E. 2466) in the Tambon Bang Gaew, province of Nakhon Pathom. Shortly after his birth his parents moved to the village Ban Tung in the district song Pi Nong in the province of Suphanburi. Suphanburi was at that time the most dangerous province of Thailand. At that time highwayman's gangs and bands of robbers, the so-called „Nak Laeng“ made trouble in this area. One characterised these as panthers, tigers and lions, because they crept up and behaved like predators. Strangely enough exactly these animals later searched shelter in the temple with Luang Pho Pern, which is why the venerable Luang Pho Pern was called "king of the tigers“. One says, that the gangsters from his youth became reborn as a tiger, panther or lion and now would seek shelter with the venerable Luang Pho Pern.

When Luang Pho Pern was still a Buddhist layman, he already began to develop magic protective amulets for the protection against dangers of all kind. Luang Pho Pern already at this time felt attracted by the Buddhist magic, which was applied by legendary fighters centuries ago. Since that time he seriously had a focus on the science of the paranormal and became one of the greatest "white magicians" of Thailand.

He asked the most famous and esteemed monks of his time for instruction in the science of the Buddhist magic. He became a pupil of Luang Pho Daeng whose full name was Phra Khru Yanna Vilad and who also has educated the famous (still living) Luang Pho Koon Parisuttho, abbot of Wat Banrai. At that time Luang Pho Daeng was not yet the abbot of Wat Khao Bandai-It in Petchaburi, but monk in Wat Tung Kork, the home village of Luang Pho Pern. First Luang Pho Pern was for a long time Luuk Siit of the famous Luang Pho Daeng, then he became a pupil of Luang Pho Hnoeng in Wat Klong Madan, an other Grand Master of the Buddhist magic of that time.

Luang Pho Pern ordained at the age of 26 years with Phra Ajahn Huem, who from now on became his teacher in Buddhist magic and
magic. Moreover, he was a pupil of Agkara Khorm with whom he learnt the combination and the use of Yahns. Yahns and amulets of Luang Pho Pern are known for their beauty and their magic forces worldwide.

For years Luang Pho Pern practiced himself in the Vipassana meditation, until he reached the perfection to become a pupil of the legendary Luang Pho Opassi who belonged at that time to the "greatest" monks of Thailand and was known because of his almost supernatural white-magic forces beyond Thailand.

Afterwards Luang Pho Pern decided to spend some years as a forest monk (Tudong) in the border area to Burma, in the province
of Kanchanaburi, in west Thailand. He lived in the deep jungle, where at that time there were still dangerous animal species and where one could get many illnesses. Therefrom he went across the border of Burma and stayed at the faraway regions of Saesawoe and Bang Graenggawia for a longer time. After the Thai animist faith there were also tree ghosts, evil fairy (Nang Mai) and jungle ghosts „Phii Phoeng“ and „Phii Phaa“ (wood ghosts) living in the jungle, against which Luang Pho Pern had to prevail. At his time
Karen tribes colonized this inhospitable area. Many of them became followers of Luang Pho Pern in the course of the years !

Because Luang Pho Pern was there always for everybody and helped every help-searching with his magic forces, he became on the highest loved and honoured. Therefore, the inhabitants of Kanchanaburi asked him to become abbot of the temple Wat Tung Naang Hlorg (temple with the field with the ghost woman). During his 5 years term of office he built up the temple. Afterwards he went back to the jungle to exercise the old ascetic meditation there.

In 1966 (B.E.2509) the inhabitants of Nakhon Pathom to his honour established a statue in front of the Wat Tung Naang Hlorg, where he was abbot at this time. This was a sign of the highest admiration and gratitude for his good actions, which he had given to the people of Nakhon Pathom. Short time after the establishment of the statue the municipality of Wat Bang Phra asked him to take over the office of the abbot. He complied with the request and remained up to his passing away, in the 6/30/2002 (B.E.2545), abbot of Wat Bang Phra.

During the last years of his spiritual work Luang Pho Pern and Wat Bang Phra became famous particularly by his sacred tattoos (Yant) and the tatoo party organised by the temple, in March of every year.
