Unique specimen - Meed Moh Ganpai Thai amulet from the venerable Kruba Kritsana Intawano, abbot of Wat Pah Mahawan, Ban Thai Samakee, Tambon Thai Samakee, Amphoe Wang Nam Khiau, Changwat Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) Isan, north-east Thailand from the year B.E. 2544 (2001).
This Meed Moh was made by the venerable Kruba Kritsana by hand for a group of woodsmen who had to protect themselves from bad tree ghosts, forest ghosts and wild animals. The Meed Moh was given only to these woodsmen and was not available in the temple.
The approx. 24 cm long Meed Moh exists of an approx. 13.5 cm long, slightly curved blade with saw teeth on the top in which on both sides protecting Yahnts are "engraved". The blade and the handle are forged of one piece. The clutch exists of wood with German silver fittings.
The approx. 17.5 cm long razor-shell also exists of wood. On top and below it is wrapped in waxed strings. Handwritten, protective formulae of Kruba Kritsana are on the sides.
The Meed Mooh is approx. 29 cm long with razor-shell, approx. 4.5 cm wide, approx. 2.0 cm thick and approx. 275 grammes.
The Meed Moh protects against dark magic, Voodoo, witchcraft, imprecations, ghosts, as well as against negative energy, evil, accidents and other magic methods which are directed against its owner. It is a very strong protective amulet which one either carries on himself or deposits at an exposed place at home. One should keep it either in door nearness or in the middle of the flat / in the house.
Kruba Kritsana was born in the 8/1/1954 (B.E.2497) as ninth from ten children. Already in youth he followed the venerable Kruba Pu, a forest monk (Tudong), as a novice, into the woods of Cambodia and Laos.
At the age of 25 years, Kruba Kritsana ordained in the 10/27/1979 (B.E.2522) and received the monk's name Intawano. Till 1989 (B.E.2532) he studied the holy texts and practiced meditation in the woods of the Isan. He lived in a cave above the Moonbon Dam in Khonburi.
In 1992 (B.E.2535) the inhabitants of Wang Nam Khiau asked the venerable Phra Kruba Kritsana to found a temple municipality.
Kruba Kritsana fulfilled this wish and built Wat Pah Mahawan in Wang Nam Khiau. On the temple area a pond was also dug up. The first amulets of Kruba Kritsana were produced of the holy earth of the pond personally.
